We are launching a new informal video series going in depth through the various parts of the Army Troop Leading Procedures (the TLPs). We are starting off with a simple TLPs overview, but we will be working our way through everything that happens during mission preparation and planning.
Some key points for this first video:
There are 8 steps in the Troop Leading Procedures:
1) Receive the Mission
2) Issue the WARNORD
3) Make a Tentative Plan
4) Initiate Movement
5) Reconnaissance
6) Complete the Plan
7) Issue the OPORD
8) Supervise and Refine
For Make a Tentative Plan, we use two processes, METT-TC Analysis, and Course of Action Development.
